QLineEdit allows the user to enter and edit a single line of plain text. It has useful collection of editing functions, including undo and redo, cut and paste, and drag and drop.
When the text changes the textChanged signal is emitted;
The following is a simple example that uses QLineEdit.

This example shows a line edit widget and a label. The text that we key in the line edit is displayed immediately in the label widget.
qle = QLineEdit(self)
The QLineEdit widget is created.
qle.textChanged[str].connect(self.onChanged)
If the text in the line edit widget changes, we call the onChanged method.

Inside the onChanged method, we set the typed text to the label widget. We call the adjustSize method to adjust the size of the label to the length of the text.
The text of the widget can be aligned with setAlignment.

The example contains a QComboBox with three options; the options align the text in the adjacent QLineEdit to the left, center, or right.

In the onActivated callback, we set the alignment of the lined edit widget with setAlignment.

The echo mode determines how the text entered in the line edit is displayed to the user. In the default Normal mode, the entered text is displayed verbatim. Other modes, including Password, and PasswordEchoOnEdit supress or obscure the text.

In the example, we can choose the echo mode with a QComboBox.

In the example, we have a validator for colour values in a hexadecimal format (e.g. #33fe56). The entered colour is used a a background for the QLabel widget.

We use a QRegularExpressionValidator which validates a string against a regular expression. The regular expression specifies the allowed characters and sets a fixed length with a quantifier. The validator is applied with setValidator.
self.qle.editingFinished.connect(self.onEditingFinished)
The editingFinished signal is emitted when the Enter key is pressed or the line edit loses focus. The signal is only emitted if the validator passes.
